The Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 runs from 17th -27th September to the public Many of the Japanese makers will be conspicuous by their absence, but that should be more than made up for by the launches from the big European makers. And of course the Koreans – in the guise of Hyundai and Kia – will do what they’re starting to do in the market place and fill the gap left by the Japanese. GM sets price on Chevrolet Corvette Competition Sport package

Chevrolet has set the sticker price for the Corvette Competition Sport packages it announced last week. Be prepared to spend $55,655 for a Corvette coupe with the 1LT trim level and the Competition Sport package. Adding the package to the Corvette Z06 with the 1LZ trim brings the bottom line to $74,775.

Drivers fail car insurance test

On a 10-question, multiple-choice test asking respondents to choose correct definitions for basic auto insurance terms, the average score was 32 percent out of a possible 100 percent, according to insurance.com. The test group included 500 drivers of all ages and from various regions of the United States, but apparently no matter what the details, nobody really knows much about car insurance. When broken down into demographic segments, women outscored men by about 8 percentage points on average, and drivers in the south beat out those in the northeast by 10 percentage points.
