 The Inspection Authorization Test Prep provides aviation maintenance technicians (AMTs) with all the resources needed to pass the FAA's exam for inspection authorization, and helps candidates become familiar with the privileges and limitations of the highest level of maintenance certification. This book is an important reference source for all AMTs seeking to add Inspection Authorization (IA) to their qualifications, as well as AMT schools preparing students for the IA test. All Inspection Authorization candidates must take and pass the FAA’s IA Knowledge Exam. The IA exam is different from other FAA exams in that it remains a “closed test”— the exact database of questions is not available to the public—which makes the IA Test Prep a great way to prepare for this exam. The more than 450 sample questions typify those that candidates are likely to encounter when taking the IA Exam. The questions and answer choices are supported with explanations, and the FAA references from which the questions are derived are identified for students who wish to study them further. Concils 'confident' over winter salt stockpiles
Mon, 11 Nov 2013COUNCILS are confident they can cope with bad-weather conditions on the roads this winter. A survey shows that local authorities in England and Wales have stockpiled more salt for this winter than last. A total of 1.3 million tonnes was stockpiled for winter 2012/13 and the Local Government Association (LGA) shows that 95% of councils are either maintaining or increasing stock levels this winter.
Hyundai releases second-generation Genesis renders
Thu, 24 Oct 2013Hyundai's second-generation Genesis has been previewed in new renders ahead of its full reveal in Korea later this year. The Genesis, which will hit the carmaker's stand at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in January, is the first model developed with Hyundai's new ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design language. It features several cues seen on the HCD-14 Genesis concept, unveiled at this year's NAIAS, such as the sharp shoulder line and the single-frame hexagonal grille design. In fact, it's nearly unchanged from the beltline up. At the rear, the sweeping roofline flows to a short trunk lid while the rear lamps wrap around from the tailgate into the rear-quarter panels.
Hyundai move from Baboons to Kids to test quality
Fri, 05 Jul 2013Hyundai let a troop of 4 & 5 year olds loose on an i30 to test quality Last year, Hyundai let a troop of 40 safari park baboons loose on an i30 to see if, left to their own devices, they could trash Hyundai’s very well bolted together (just ask Martin Winterkorn) i30. It was a clever way to demonstrate that the i30 doesn’t just look good, but is made of a bit more than recycled baked bean cans and Fairy liquid bottles. The i30 came through the baboon test with flying colours (even the company tasked with cleaning it up after the baboons commented on the story that they were impressed by how unscathed the i30 was), but Hyundai has now come up with a quality test that makes the baboon adventure look like a walk in the (safari) park.
