Report: Gasoline engine has big bang for the fuel-economy buck

A government report says improving the gasoline engine will yield huge gains for the consumer and the environment as automakers consider ways to improve fuel economy over the next 14 years. The Obama administration's technical assessment looked at four technology scenarios by which automakers might attain suggested CAFE goals of 47 to 62 mpg for cars and light trucks by 2025. The scenarios differed by the portion of an automaker's fleet that was accounted for by electrics, hybrid electrics and plug-in hybrid electrics.

Bugatti to unveil “Lang Lang” Veyron at Qatar motor show

Bugatti will reveal another special edition of the Grand Sport Vitesse called “Lang Lang” at the 2014 Qatar International Motor Show later this month, built to honor the Chinese pianist. We’re assuming this is one of the 40 convertibles the company needs to sell before it starts building new cars. Chrysler announces employee pricing, $6,000 rebates

Chrysler LLC, reeling from plunging U.S. sales and bulging inventories, will offer all customers the same prices paid by employees and boost rebates to as much as $6,000. The program, called "Employee Pricing Plus Plus," begins Monday on Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler models.
