Austin-healey Early 100 Chrome Door Latches Pair on 2040-parts.com
South Egremont, Massachusetts, United States
These early chrome door latches were originally used on preproduction and the first and second batches of the Austin-Healey 100. Not sure why the production was amended to the wider base door latches, but probably strengthening was found to be needed. Very early 100-4 cars should have these for Concours. One base could use some polishing work, but not badly pitted at all.

Wed, 22 May 2013Lotus is adding an Exige S Roadster to its lineup, based on the new Exige we saw at the Frankfurt auto show. Unfortunately the road-car version will not come to the United States. The Roaster is powered by the same 345-hp V6 as in the hardtop Exige, as well as in the bigger Evora.
Scion considers moving upscale
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Toyota's struggling Scion brand may move upscale to challenge entry-level luxury models coming from European automakers. The new lower-luxury niche includes Mini, the front-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz CLA arriving this fall and Audi's compact A3 sedan shown last week on the eve of the New York auto show. Scion has gone after young entry-level buyers since its inception 10 years ago but has lost its early momentum.
Cost of garage labour falling
Mon, 23 Sep 2013THE AVERAGE labour rate at both franchised and non-franchised garages has fallen compared to 2012, according to new figures. An annual survey of 12,000 cases conducted on behalf of Warranty Direct has concluded that the average labour rate in 2013 is £74.70, a fall of 9.84% from £82.86 in 2012. Less encouraging is the overall trend of rising labour rates, with the average having increased by 33% over the last ten years.
