Father Christmas’s go-anywhere 4x4 delivery wagon was sketched out exclusively for CAR Online – as part of our Christmas 2009 special feature.Submitted by Oliver Le Grice, Land Rover’s chief designer of advanced design, and designed by Florian Dobe, the Land Rover sledge is designed to deliver presents to all corners of the Earth. The Midlands design HQ has helpfully attached a spec sheet, letting us know this Land Rover has height adjustable suspension (presumably controlled by the brand’s Terrain Response controller) and a hitherto top-secret powertrain option: a particle accelerator.

The Vauxhall Zafira Tourer is the first Vauxhall to get the new 1.6 CDTi Diesel engine offering 68.9mpg. Debuts at Geneva 2013. Now we get news that Vauxhall are also giving the Zafira the new 1.6 CDTI diesel with stop start – the cleanest Vauxhall diesel ever.

McLaren P1 Spied

The McLaren P1 supercar has been spotted out testing in Diss in Norfolk making a visit to a McLaren supplier. We got the public reveal of the McLaren P1 – the spiritual successor to the iconic McLaren F1 – at the Paris Motor Show in September, and the McLaren boys told us the car was 95 per cent of how the final P1 would look. Which seems to be borne out by these spy photos of the P1.
