Whos Where: Jean-Pierre Ploué promoted at PSA

Jean-Pierre Ploué, Citroën Styling Director since 2000, has been appointed Director of Styling for the entire PSA Peugeot Citroën Group effective October 1. In this capacity, he will lead all of the Peugeot and Citroën styling teams, which have been consolidated at the Group's Automotive Design Network facility in Vélizy since 2004. This combined Peugeot and Citroën design center provides effective support for the Group's commitment to strengthening and differentiating the two brands' styling universes, a process that was initiated by Chairman Christian Streiff as part of the dynamic of the CAP 2010 program.

Infiniti EX35

The EX35 is a slightly smaller and more mainstream SUV than its FX bigger brother from which it takes its core 'coupe SUV' theme.  Despite the coupe design references, the vehicle is similar proportionally to the Lexus RX300 and BMW X3 which it will compete with in the US - and also in Europe when the Infiniti brand debuts next year.  Little different to the Infiniti EX concept shown in New York, the EX35 uses the core Infiniti graphic design signatures and soft form language but introduces a new flowing side feature line not seen on the Infiniti G37 Coupe launched a few months ago. Interesting technical innovations include the 'Around View Monitor' that uses four cameras to give a 'top-down view' of the outside of the car, and 'Scratch Shield' - a new self-healing clearcoat paint. Lexus LFA Roadster makes an appearence in Tokyo (video)

Lexus LFA Roadster The long-rumoured Lexus LFA Roadster has made a surprise appearance at the D1GP Kick Off Drift event in Tokyo. The plan for Toyota to chop the top of the LFA to create a Lexus LFA Roadster has been running round the rumour mill for a while, but Toyota has yet to confirm it. That said, we reported back in October that Toyota were planning a launch of the Lexus LFA Roadster in 2014, and unlike the LFA Roadster – which was limited to 500 cars worldwide – Lexus were going to build as many LFA Roadsters as the market could swallow.
