   This Barient No. 10 sailboat winch is used, in absolutely excellent mechanical condition- Probably had just been trial mounted at most.  Very Heavy-Duty model, Marine alloy with a solid Bronze internal column.   Top and bottom pawls for great strength.  It operates CRISPLY AND RELIABLY.  It is extremely heavy and heavily made-  A  reliable and handsome piece of equipment which would enhance almost any sailboat.  There are numerous photos showing its details and condition, inside and out.

   Stands 3 5/8" tall and measures about 4" across the base. Marked "Barient 10...U.S.A."

  Please be aware that these Barient 10's are NOT TO BE CONFUSED with the present Tinkertoy Lewmar or other winches now designated as "Number 10's"-  These are serious pieces of Cruising/Racing Equipment, just a bit smaller than the Barient or Barlow Number 16's.

   Accepts all standard modern handles.  Caged stainless roller bearing.   Virtually NO wear to the textured line gripping surface.  Internals are in perfect condition, CRISP and sharp  - There are numerous photos to show the details and condition.  

   Ratchets precisely, like the fine piece of equipment it is.   Drum has Barient's tasteful dark grey finish, showing NO line wear or ringing.  Very easy assembly/ disassembly.  A good choice for medium to large cruising boats, as a cabintop or mast winch, or as a single primary on multihulls, with all lines led to it.  

   -Despite the heavy weight, the USPS Priority Mail shipping cost stated in the auction is correct anywhere in the U.S. .

It’s got more power, trick tyres, adjustable dampers, a titanium exhaust, and with that armoury Renault is firing a warning shot across the bows of forthcoming mega hatches like the Honda Civic Type R and Vauxhall Astra VXR Extreme. Renaultsport has worked on the regular Megane 265's turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine to find an extra 10bhp, so peak power is now 271bhp (or 275PS, hence the name) delivered at 5500rpm.

Road accident injuries highlighted

THE NUMBER of 20 to 24-year-olds injured in road accidents is nearly twice as high as the national adult average, according to Government statistics. As many as 6.7% of 20 to 24-year-olds said they had been injured in a road accident in the period 2010 to 2012 compared with the all-adult (16 and over) average of 3.8%. The next-worst casualty age range was 25 29-year-olds, of whom 5.8% suffered a road accident injury in 2010-12, while the figure for 30 to 39-year-olds was 5.0%.
