Motorway pile-up 'like pinball'

DRIVERS involved in a fatal pile-up on a motorway entered a "wall of blackness" before suffering numerous impacts as if they were "a pinball machine", a jury heard. Seven people died and 51 were injured after 34 cars collided when a section of the M5 in Somerset was suddenly "engulfed in thick smog". Anthony and Pamela Adams, Maggie and Michael Barton, Malcolm Beacham, Terry Brice and Kye Thomas died in the incident, on November 4 2011.

The Lamborghini SUV has been confirmed by an Audi manager Rumours of a Lamborghini SUV Concept at the Beijing Motor Show have been confirmed by a senior Audi Manager. The deadline for the 2012 Car Design News – Opel/Vauxhall Interactive Design Competition has been extended until midnight (00:00 GMT) Friday 11 May. Mark Adams, Vice President Opel/Vauxhall Design, announced the news in a video message to all entrants, in which he reiterated the brief – to design the Opel/Vauxhall Ampera of the year 2020. All students must submit both an exterior and interior design to be eligible to win paid internships within GM Europe, Opel/Vauxhall's parent company.
