Hyundai i-oniq-Concept arrives at Geneva 2012 The Hyundai i-oniq Concept has been revealed ahead of Geneva 2012 as a range-extender hatchback with 75 mile EV range. We had a single teaser image of the Hyundai i-oniq Concept back in December, with the promise it was heading towards Geneva 2012, and with Geneva looming in just a few days Hyundai has revealed the first photo of the i-oniq. The plan was to take the resulting Mugen Honda CR-Z to this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, to see if the knowledgeable petrolheads that gravitate to the Goodwood Estate like moths to a Summer flame could find something to love in the Honda CR-Z, once it had had some Mugen fairy dust springled on it. We were a bit reluctant to expect anything much of the CR-Z even after Mugen had played, but we were pleasantly surprised to learn that the CR-Z would get a wider track, new suspension and brakes and a drop in weight thanks to some carbon fibre in the mix – most notably the carbon fibre bonnet.

Redesigned Ford Escape SUV is recalled for carpet issue

Ford is recalling about 8,200 copies of the redesigned 2013 Ford Escape SUV to fix a carpeting flaw that could affect the driver's ability to use the brakes. Ford says the affected vehicles were built between March 8 and June 7, 2012. According to Ford, an improperly installed piece of carpet padding on the center-console trim panel could cause a driver's foot to hit the side of the side of the brake pedal when moving from the accelerator pedal.
