First Lamborghini Huracans making £30k premiums

One has already secured a £27k premium for the car – which he won’t even bother to drive before he sells it on – and the expectation is that premiums could hit £30k in the first months after the Huracan arrives, such is demand for Lamborghini’s new supercar. But with UK dealers expecting just 4 cars each in 2014 (although Lamborghini London are getting a few more) those buyers who got in quick for an early delivery are sitting on a near 20 per cent profit as the less organised seek to get behind the wheel.

Auction company Barrett-Jackson has a long-standing tradition of selling cars with no reserve--meaning the car is sold to the highest bidder regardless of price--but a change in that policy saw several million-dollar sales Saturday night at the annual extravaganza in Scottsdale, Ariz. While most of the cars crossing the Barrett-Jackson auction block continue to be sold at no reserve, the auction giant offered up several classics with a reserve and the results were impressive. Hyundai heading for more dual clutch gearboxes instead of CVT

Hyundai are planning to offer more dual clutch gearboxes in their cars rather than going the CVT route. There’s an argument that somehow CVT gearboxes offer better fuel economy than an automated dual clutch ‘box, even though logic says otherwise. Toyota insist on using a CVT ‘box on their hybrid cars when they’d feel much better to drive with an auto or dual clutch ‘box.
