Based on the Star GP design and built on innovations first developed in the Bell Infusion, the Star Infusion is the ultimate in forced air helmet technology. The Snell SA2010/FIA8858 Star Infusion is the first model in the industry that can be used as either a side air forced air or top air forced air model. Sold in the top forced air configuration, the Star Infusion can easily be adapted for use as a side forced air helmet though an innovative kit system. The helmet can also be used in a non-forced air configuration. Developed with feedback from the world's best NASCAR and Sports Car drivers, the SA2010/FIA8858 Star Infusion is the helmet of choice for racers in a closed car environment using a forced air system.

The Star Infusion features an ultra-lightweight carbon composite shell, high-tech aggressive aero styling and a pro-plus style interior that provides superior comfort. The pro-plus interior delivers a custom interior fit by combining Bell's soft plush-density fit pad system, contoured cheek-grip pad system to reduce movement and integrated collar that is designed to fully support the driver's lower jaw bone area.

With the versatility of the Star Infusion, professional racers no longer have to choose between a side forced air or top forced air model. Sold in the top forced air configuration, the helmet can be transformed into a side (left) forced air helmet (side air kit sold separately). The Star Infusion incorporates Bell's ground-breaking air chamber technology to increase pressure and accelerate airflow (when used with an external forced air system) to maximize airflow for improved ventilation and comfort. In the top forced air configuration, the Star Infusion divides the air inflow evenly in vent channels that direct ventilation to the front of the helmet to cool the face and prevent shield fogging and into the air chamber top pad, evenly dispersing airflow to cool the driver around the top of the head. The Star Infusion features the new Quick Lock forced air nozzle that locks the forced air connector in place yet allows for easy release. The smaller nozzle design helps accelerate airflow into the helmet.

Measure the circumference of the head at a point approximately one inch above the eyebrows in front, and at a point in the back of the head that results in the largest possible measurement. Take several measurements. The largest measurement is the one you want to use. Please don't guess your size or go by the size of a previously owned helmet. Helmet manufactures vary in size.

Mayor warning over London cycling protests

Mon, 09 Dec 2013

SAFETY protests sparked by the deaths of six cyclists on the streets of the capital risk scaring people off switching from cars to bikes altogether, London mayor Boris Johnson will warn today. Mr Johnson will urge "more careful" language, suggesting pro-cycling campaigners could jeopardise the push to boost bike use by concentrating on recent fatalities when overall numbers were not up. Mr Johnson - addressing a safety summit bringing together cycle and haulage groups - will hail a £913 million investment in safety measures but urge people not to expect instant results.

2000s supercars

Tue, 15 Jul 2008

By Tim Pollard and Ben Oliver 15 July 2008 12:41 Supercars in the Noughties They say power can corrupt, but the horsepower race raged well into the current decade. Ferrari built the Enzo, Porsche the Carrera GT and then came the car that trumped them all: the Bugatti Veyron. The definitive hypercar once again moved the goalposts – although this time, we suspect they’ll remain moved forever.
