Fuji Heavy Industries, manufacturer of Subaru vehicles and aerospace-related products, today announced the introduction of the Subaru Stella, an all-new mini car for the Japanese market. The Stella follows the 'Think.Feel.Drive' message delivered by the Subaru B5-TPH concept at the Tokyo Motor Show last year, albeit in somewhat less glamorous clothes. In 1987, Mitsubishi initiated a range of concept cars called HSR (High Speed Research) with the intention of creating a futuristic vision for the brand combining advanced technology, efficient power and aerodynamic design. The first concept car was designed for safely cruising on the motorway at very high speed, thanks to cutting edge electronics. The car's internal computers measured speed, weather, driver input and grip, and adjusted the 4-wheel drive system and the 4-wheel steering automatically.

From the Murano to the Juke, via the Qashqai, rugged urban transport has been one of its big success stories (alright, maybe not the Murano). The seven-seater Hi-Cross Concept, premiered here, showcases some of the styling ideas that Nissan could filter through to future production models and also features a hybrid drivetrain and new version of its CVT gearbox.
