Lotus appoints Mansory as official car customiser
Mon, 26 Mar 2012Lotus appoints Mansory to customise their cars Lotus has teamed up with car customiser Mansory to create custom versions of its Exige, Elise and Evora. Car makers in the upper echelons have customers who want to make their car more individual than a regular options list can manage. So they either have their own in-house bespoke service – like Ferrari’s Tailor Made – or they appoint an official customiser.
Cars of the future could be powered by seawater
Fri, 18 Apr 2014Water from the sea could power cars of the future, if experiments currently being trialled by the US Navy prove to be successful. Hydrogen cars ‘on sale next year’ Zero-emissions hydrogen fuel-cell cars on sale in 2015 – Hyundai If successful, researchers predict it’ll cost between $3 and $6 per gallon – that’s approximately 40p to 80p per litre.
McLaren P1 driven by Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson (video)
Fri, 11 Oct 2013McLaren P1 driven by Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson (pictured) It’s only a few days since McLaren revealed the first customer P1s are now rolling out of McLaren’s clinical production facility in Woking, and it looks like Jeremy Clarkson has bagged one to play with. The video (below) shows Clarkson behind the wheel of the new P1 which, judging by the number plate, is probably one of the first customer cars on the road. The opinionated one is preceded in the video by a pair of Range Rovers – one new, one old – at least one of which is a camera car, so this drive of the Mclaren P1 is obviously heading for a TV screen soon – hopefully on Top Gear.
