Todays modern engine are made to be efficient, light, and tunable. Unfortunately one of the ways companies remove weight from engines is to build them with open deck cooling jacket blocks. This helps with weight reduction and also helps reduce costs by requiring less machining. The downside to this open deck cooling jack block is cylinder wall flex when high RPM and/or high boost pressures are applied. This causes loss in power, blown head gaskets, and in the worst case, hydralocking the motor and causing severe internal engine damage. The solution, using the PPG Block Guard to stabalize the cylinders and eliminating flex which causes the problems. When the cylinder head and cylinder head gasket are removed, simply drop in the block guard into the waterjacket with the writing facing up. Install your new headgasket on top and reinstall your head. The block guard is fully drilled to accomidate the oem cooling passages and in no way hinders cooling. Need some serious power? Make sure your engine can handle it!!!

Provides reinforcement and extra strength to the stock sleeves which can help prevents sleeve walk. These guards are CNC-machined and made from 6061 aircraft aluminum. Precise fitment every time!

Ford testing self-parking cars – with or without a driver (video)

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

Ford testing self-parking cars – with or without a driver It seems we’re heading to the point where cars can do more and more for the driver, and fully autonomous cars seem to be less than a decade away. On the way to the fully autonomous car, car makers will be offering stages on the way as the ability of cars to be self-controlling moves along, and Ford are heading in that direction with their new systems for parking and obstacle avoidance. Ford are running prototypes with Fully Assisted Parking, a system that manages to sense a space, control the steering, gearbox and brakes to park the car at the touch of a button, even if the driver isn’t actually in the car.
