2010 Lotus Evora to start at $74,675

Mon, 16 Nov 2009

The 2010 Lotus Evora will start at $74,675 when it arrives in the United States in the first part of next year.

The exotic mid-engine 2+2 sports car is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 276 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. It rips from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds and tops out at 162 mph.

It’s also expected to get better than 30 mpg on the highway. Inside are aluminum instrument and center-console surfaces, Recaro seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Lotus launched an “open-house” tour on Nov. 13 in Boston that will visit 44 dealerships across the country in an effort to generate buzz for the car’s U.S. arrival. Two Evoras are making the rounds to allow consumers to get an up-close look.

Options include the technology package ($2,995), a sports-ratio six-speed gearbox ($1,500), forged-alloy wheels ($2,125) and limited-edition paint ($3,300).
