2012 Citroen C1 Facelift Price & Specs announced

Citroen has reveal price and specification details for its new for 2012 facelift for the little C1. Starts at £7,995.

The new Citroen C1 – well, a facelifted version – was revealed by Citroen in January ahead of its debut at the Brussels Motor Show, and Citroen UK has now revealed prices and specs for the new models.

On sale from 2nd April, the 2012 C1 starts at just £7,995 for the 1.0i 3-door VT, rising to £10,545 for the 1.0i EGS 5-door VTR+, an altogether sensible range of prices for a fun and frugal little city car.

Bottom end VT trim includes the basics, but you’ll need to dig a bit deeper for home comforts. The VTR spec – which starts at £8,995 – adds in LED running lights, AirCon and electric front windows, and the VTR+ spec also throws in 14″ alloys, Bluetooth and USB, front fogs, privacy glass and leather steering wheel at prices starting from ££9,695 for the C1 1.0i 3-door VTR.

The joy of the C1 is in its nimbleness and frugality on city streets, with up to 67.5mpg possible (we averaged 58mpg in the C1′s sister car, the Peugeot 107) which, coupled with low buying price, sub 99g/km emissions (expect on the EGS ‘box) and decent residuals makes the C1 (or the 107 or Aygo) so much cheaper to own – and more fun – than any comparable hybrid or EV.

To put a bit of icing on the already decent prices, Citroen are offering the C1 with ‘Citreon Reward’, which means £1,000 back and prices starting at £6,995. There’s also a £99 a month Elect 4 lease option and free insurance.

Although the new Citroen C1 doesn’t officially go on sale until 2nd April, Citroen UK are taking pre-orders now. If you want a great little city car you could do a great deal worse.
