2012 Nissan GT-R Track Pack - £10k extra

Nissan reveals that the Track Pack for the 2012 GT-R will add £10 to the price of a regular GT-R. Due in the UK March 2012.

One of the joys of driving on the left in the UK is that we get a lot of the stuff on Japanese cars that really isn’t available in lhd markets. Like the Track Pack for the 2012 Nissan GT-R, a hard core option for the newly updated for 2012 GT-R.

For most drivers, the awesome performance of the regular GT-R is enough to satisfy almost any desire for an adrenalin rush you could want. It’s 3.8 litre V6 develops 542 horses and gets to 60mph in under 3 seconds. That’s true hypercar levels. And yet the GT-R costs a very reasonable £72k.

But even with all that performance on tap, there are GT-R buyers who want that bit more. And if they stump up £10k for the new GT-R Track Pack they do get more. Not more performance, but certainly more hard-core handling, thanks to retuned suspension and extra brake cooling which lowers brake disc temperature by as much as 100 degrees on track.

The brake cooling is achieved by additional cooling ducts built in to the front bumper and similar ducts hidden behind the rear wheels which channel cooler air on to the discs

Other changes include the loss of the back seats and Recaros up front, six-spoke RAYS alloys, new front spoiler, and a set of ‘Track Pack’ logos. The Recaros come trimmed with blue bolster in a high grip material to stop you flying around when the g-forces get extreme.

Nissan are now taking order for the 2012 GT-R with Tack Pack at £84,450, with first deliveries due in March 2012.
