Peugeot 208 starts at £9,995

Prices and specification for the 2012 Peugeot 208 have been revealed. Starts at £9,995 for the 208 VTi 68bhp Access 3 door.

The new Peugeot 208 has a lot riding on its new wheels for Peugeot’s future, and high hopes that it can rekindle the sales fire of the 205.

The new 208 range kicks off at £9,995 for the three-cylinder 1,0 litre 3 door with entry-level access trim, rising to £17,845 for the five-door 1.6 e-HDi and £18,495 for the launch special Ice Velvet 1.6 VTi 208 with most of the 208′s options in the price.

You’re going to be spoilt for choice on the engine front with a total of eight variants which include five petrols – including the new 1.0 litre 3-pot with 67bhp and 99g/km and the 1.6 litre turbo with 156bhp – and three diesels, with the 1.4 litre e-HDi having emissions of just 87g/km.

Trim levels are almost as comprehensive as engine choices, with Access, Access+, Active, Allure and Feline available and – as a launch special – a range-topping Ice Velvet. Edition of the 208.

The entry-level Access trim comes with electric front windows and remote central locking, with the Access+ adding Cruise, electric mirrors and AirCon.

Move up to Active and you’ll get 15″ alloys, Bluetooth, Fogs and colour Touchscreen. The Allure trim adds 16″ alloys, LEd running lights, Tinted Glass, Sports Seats, auto lights and wipers and Climate, and the Feline top of the tree throws in 17″ alloys, half leather and panoramic roof with ambient lighting.

To kick off proceedings Peugeot are also offering the 208 Ice Velvet which comes only as a three-door with the 1.6 VTi engine for a frankly slightly barking £18,495. For that you get a glitzy 208 with lots of toys including 17″ alloys and parking sensors.

The new Peugeot 208 goes on sale officially in the UK in June.
