2013 Hyundai Elantra GT pricing announced

Wed, 13 Jun 2012

We know all of you enthusiasts have been waiting, and finally, here it is. The 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT will cost you and your friends $19,170 when it hits dealerships this month. If you'd like an automatic transmission, Hyundai will tack on an extra grand.

Jokes aside, the Hyundai Elantra is a good little city scooter. It makes 148 hp from its 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, along with 131 lb-ft of torque. Fuel mileage hovers near 39 mpg on the highway.

The Elantra GT has more interior space than its competitors including the Mazda 3, Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf, according to Hyundai. It also features fold-down rear seats for more cargo room.

The GT is tweaked a bit from the base model. It has higher rear spring rates, a V-beam rear suspension with and integrated stabilizer bar and Sachs dampers. The Style trim takes the Elantra a step further, with even tauter handling.

New for 2013 is Hyundai's driver-selectable steering mode. Drivers can select from comfort, normal and sport modes, each with its own characteristics. The new feature not only adjusts steering weight but also on-center feel for what Hyundai says is a natural feel.

Check out the options for each trim below:
