2013 Skoda Superb Facelift revealed

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

The Skoda Superb has been given a facelift for 2013 with cosmetic tweaks and improved emissions and economy. Debuts at Shanghai Motor Show.

The usual facelift fodder applies – for the hatch and estate – with new bumpers front and back with a new grill, lights, front wings and bonnet with a tidying up at the back and LED lights. Skoda has also added two new colour choice to the Superb - Meteor Grey and Moon White – and there’s new alloys in 16″, 17″ and 18″ flavours.

Inside, the 2013 Superb gets only minor tweaks with new fabrics and patterns with a new brown and ivory option available on the range-topping Laurin & Klement trim.

As you would expect, Skoda has also had a play under the bonnet with economy improved by up to 19 per cent thanks to the addition of stop-start and kinetic energy recuperation on the diesel engines and the 1.4 TSI 125PS petrol.

The Skoda Superb GreenLine now manages 67.3mpg, the 2.0 TDI 140PS now gets a manual ‘box on the 4×4 version and the 170PS version comes with a six-speed DSG ‘box.

Nothing too exciting, but the cosmetic tweaks will keep the Superb looking fresh and the economy tweaks (which are probably more ‘official’ than real world) are welcome.

The 2013 Skoda Superb will go on sale at the end of June after it debuts at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month.
