2014 Maserati Ghibli order guide leaked online

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

The 2014 Maserati Ghibli order guide leaked online at ghibliforum.com over the weekend. From it we get a good view of the trims, engines and accessories for the Italian brand's new 5-series fighter.

We already knew two engines -- twin-turbo V6s -- would be offered. The rear-wheel-drive model gets a 345-hp mill while the all-wheel-drive version uses a 404-hp version. ZF eight-speed transmissions are standard, as is a limited-slip differential on RWD cars.

The Ghibli has a good amount of base options including keyless entry and start, dual-climate zones and leather seats. The AWD S Q4 model gets a navigation system, power sunroof, heated seats, an electronically adjustable steering column and a few other bits and pieces.

Fourteen paint colors eventually will be offered, in five types: solid, metallic, metallescent, mica and pearlescent. Rosso Energia and Azzuro Allegria are the only colors unavailable at launch. Inside, six leather colors are offered, in three trims, the most expensive being “premium and drilled.” Buyers choose from seven sets of rims and five brake caliper colors.

The Ghibli offers three levels of sound system, from standard to premium to the Bowers & Wilkins 15-speaker system.

Double wishbones with coil springs tie down the front wheels with fixed rate dampers. The optional Skyhook suspension adds adjustable dampers. A five-arm multilink setup holds down the back.

A handful of option groups will be offered. The base adds Bluetooth, sunroof, auto-dimming mirrors, eight-way power seats and the adjustable steering column. A cold-weather package adds heated seats and wheel. The premium package includes remote start, power pedals, heated seats and rain sensors. The luxury package comes with premium leather, velour carpets and better trim.

Three sport packages are available offering bigger rims, painted brake calipers, shift paddles and sport pedals.

We haven't seen an official price, but we drove the car this month and were given an estimated base price for the AWD S Q4 version of around $75,000. The 2014 Maserati Ghibli goes on sale in September.
