2015 Subaru Forster to start at $23,045

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

The 2015 Subaru Forester will cost $23,045, including destination, when it goes on sale in March or April. The XT model now comes standard with the all-weather package (which includes heated front seats and heated side mirrors). A backup camera is standard on all models, 2.5i Premium trim gets a moonroof and the EyeSight Driver Assist option has been lowered by $500.

The pair of engines we’re familiar with will also be offered in 2015. Base models get a 2.5-liter boxer making 170 hp, while upgraded models get the company’s new 2.0-liter turbocharged mill making 250 hp. Six-speed manual transmissions will be offered on 2.5i and 2.5i Premium models; the rest will get CVTs.

Fuel mileage with the manual transmission is rated at 24 mpg combined; the 2.5i with CVT returns 27 mpg combined. The turbo model gets 25 mpg combined.

The Premium trim starts at $25,445, while the top, 2.0XT Touring model comes in at $33,945. All Touring models feature Keyless Access & Start, HID lights and chrome rocker trim. Navigation is optional, while all-wheel drive is standard across the range.

The EyeSight Driver Assist setup uses a stereo camera system developed by Subaru, rather than radar, which integrates Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning to help keep drivers from getting into an accident.
