Arash AF-10 – almost ready

The Arash AF-10 seems finally close to production

Arash Farboud likes the idea of making supercars. He was responsible for the Farboud GTS which eventually became the Farbio, and he’s been busy working on his new creation – the Arash AF-10 – for the last three years or more. Finally it looks as if the the AF-10 is almost ready to go with the release of a fair amount of detail and some price estimates.

The Arash AF-10 is a mostly carbon fibre creation – chassis and bodywork – which will be powered by the Corvette LS7, 7.0 litre V8 which produces 550bhp. In the Arash it will be fitted with an active exhaust valve so you can frighten pedestrians at will, and the power will be shifted through a manual 6-speed Graziono ‘box.

All the carbon fibre makes for a light car (it tips the scales at 2645lbs) but the drawback is the price – a pretty whopping £320,000. Arash are planning on building around a dozen cars a year and have roped in Loris Bicocchi – the man involved in the development of the Veyron, Koenigsegg and KTM X-Bow – to help shake-down the AF-10. Which does mean the car should be properly sorted. It may also give Veyron-owning  Arash Farboud an easy way to tinker with his daily drive.

Also in the pipeline is a supercharged version of the AF-10 – the Arash AF-10S – which is expected to sport 800bhp and there is also talk of a 1000bhp version. At a slightly more modest price point Arash also have plans for a less powerful AF-8.

It’s a decent looking car with a heap of potential in a sort of Enzo-ish way. Let’s hope Arash manages to get some sold.
