Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster leaks ahead of official debut

Mon, 02 Jul 2012

The new Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster has leaked ahead of an official debut later this week.

At the end of 2011 Aston Martin boss Ulrich Bez let slip that a Roadster version of the V12 Vantage was on the way, and the expectation was it would arrive at the Geneva Motor Show in March. But it didn’t.

But it looks like the official reveal of the V12 Vantage Roadster is imminent after the leak of the first photos earlier today.

The V12 Vantage Roadster will be a limited edition Aston Martin with just 101 car being built at a price expected to be around £150k.

The V12 Roadster gets the same engine and gearbox as the V12 Vantage Coupe which means the 6.0 litre V12 with 510bhp and a six-speed manual ‘box.

Aston Martin has had a play with the suspension to make the heavier and less wield y Roadster handle better and there’s a new boot lid with spoiler and bulges behind the seats.

The front bumper gets a bit more butch, new alloys and bits of carbon fibre dotted around, there’s a new set of alloys, glass switches instead of plastic on the centre console and new Aston Martin logos with a black background.

Production of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster is planned to start before the end of 2012, and if you know who to talk to you can grab one now.
