Aston Martin V12 Zagato production debut in Kuwait

The production ready version of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato we first saw at Villa D’Este will be unveiled at the Kuwait Concours d’Elegance in February.

Last spring saw the Aston Martin V12 Zagato –  spiritual successor to the Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato – arrive at Villa D’Este, looking every bit as good as you would expect an Aston Martin by Zagato to look.

There were doubts expressed about whether the v12 Zagato would go in to production – at least publicly – but it was always clear that the V12 Zagato was Aston Martin['s next halo car, following on from the even more extreme (certainly cost-wise) Aston Martin One-77.

By July 2011, Aston Martin confirmed that the V12 Zagato would go in to limited production, with a run of 150 cars each costing £330k before local taxes, and by August we had the first look at the production V12 Zagato.

Now Aston Martin has revealed that they are giving the V12 Zagato its public debut as a production car at the Kuwait Concours d’ Elegance in February, sensibly taking the Zagato to the money.

Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin boss, said:

We are excited to show the new V12 Zagato for the first time in production form at the Kuwait Concours d’Elegance. Over 50 years since the introduction of the iconic DB4GT Zagato, Aston Martin and Zagato have collaborated to create this modern interpretation which remains true to the original focus of craftsmanship, performance and exclusivity.

We don't know how many of the 150 cars Aston Martin has already sold, but a showing in Kuwait won't do their order book any harm. The first V12 Zagatos are due by the end of 2012 and, although they don't get a boost to the regular Zagato's 510bhp V12, we can't see Aston struggling too hard to shift 150 cars.
