Aston Martin expands personalization scheme

Thu, 13 Oct 2011

Aston Martin, the UK's ‘coolest brand', is set to increase its offerings of unique products. The British carmaker has announced that the ‘Works Tailored' personalization and customization department is expanding as part of a six-month development plan within the brand.

The recently formed ‘Works Tailored' department, which works in close collaboration with engineers and designers, offers owners of Aston Martins of any age the chance to personalize their car to their exacting standards.

From creating unique colors, materials and finishes through to integrating the latest additional technology, Works Tailored offers its customers ‘a route to take an idea through to a crafted and thoroughly engineered reality'.

An off-shoot from the Works Service, that was originally set-up in 1924 to offer customers a factory level of maintenance, the Works Tailored service will now work alongside the Service team at the revised site in Newport Pagnell. The redevelopment of the historic site will also see the inclusion of a new Aston Martin dealership.

The Aston Martin and Newport Pagnell connection dates back to the 1950s, with the Tickford Street site being purchased by owner David Brown, as ‘the ideal base for both Aston Martin and Lagonda'.

The site was home to Aston Martin production for over 50 years up until 2007, when the firm moved to a purpose built location at Gaydon, Warwickshire. Aston Martin states that ‘this latest development plan underlines the company's commitment to the business and to the Newport Pagnell area for many years to come'.

Kingsley Riding-Felce, Director of Aston Martin Works Service said, "After many years we have established ourselves as a leader in Aston Martin service, repair and restoration here at Newport Pagnell. The ability now to invest in our buildings and bring them to the same high standard of our knowledge and skill is very exciting indeed. This integrated plan also sees some key additions to both the team and indeed its capabilities to cater for the customer demands of the present and future.

"In addition to this, an Aston Martin dealership will be constructed at Works Service completing our fields of expertise to create a true Aston Martin ‘Centre of Excellence'."
