Every edge helps, and no one knows that better than Audi. They’ve become masters at finding value where other car makers didn’t even see an opportunity, much less explore it. And their marketing – although understated (on the whole) – is always bang on message and consistent.

And now it looks like Audi have found another angle of attack as they announce that it’ll cost you less to insure an Audi than a comparable BMW or Mercedes. Which helps if you’re under 25, but is probably marginal otherwise. And how many buyers of new Audis are under 25?

Still, every little helps, and Audi say that the Association of British Insurers (ABI) rankings prove that it will cost considerably less to insure an Audi than a Beemer or Merc.

Which is all very well, but do buyers of Audi’s actually care. I suppose that if you really couldn’t decide whether to take an A8, S Class or 7 Series you could decide based on the insurance group. Then again, you could decide based on how far each dealer was from the office. Or which had the shortest name. Or the longest.

But an edge is an edge. So Audi has sent us a comparison list to prove their point.
