Audi welcomes Porsche back to Le Mans

Fri, 06 Jun 2014

Porsche is returning to the 24 Hours of Le Mans next weekend, and reigning champ Audi figured it would be nice to send a little welcoming committee to Stuttgart, Germany.

The committee consisted of one driver in an R18 e-tron quattro LMP1 car.

Keen eyes will notice the race car passing a red tractor, also a Porsche design. We're hoping Porsche brings a bit more speed to Le Mans.

The automaker's return to the famous race ends a 16-year absence from the Circuit de la Sarthe. It will bring the 919 Hybrid, while Audi will continue with the R18 e-tron factory effort.

The four rings has won the race 12 out of the last 14 years, only broken up by Bentley in 2003 and Peugeot in 2009.
