BAIC previews Concept 900 ahead of Shanghai reveal

Tue, 16 Apr 2013

BAIC will unveil its Concept 900 at this week's Shanghai auto show, previewed in three images.

The Concept 900 sports sedan is the latest result of BAIC's ongoing collaboration with the Fioravanti-Eastone carrozeria following last year's C90L, first seen in Beijing. It has been created to indicate BAIC's future design language.

At the front, the 3D wave-shaped grille accentuates the BAIC logo and sits in between sharp headlamps. Fioravanti tells us we can also expect an "edgy lower intake" along with large carbon fiber doors. The long, sculpted hood and cab rearwards design help emphasize the car's sporty nature.

Designers have apparently followed the ‘More with Less' philosophy, keeping the interior minimalist and the dashboard free from clutter and conventional controls, which are now accessed via the two large touchscreens. These feature on the center console, one for the front passengers and another for the rear passengers.
