BMW 1M Coupe hooning on a Helipad in LA

The BMW 1 Series M Coupe may have had a rather difficult gestation – certainly in terms of its name – but it’s making its presence felt now it’s here.

Earlier this month we had a video of the 1M Coupe playing ‘Hole in the Wall’ on a desert road with concrete blocks with 1m Coupe cut-outs. All CGI, but very entertaining nonetheless.

BMW then had a nice credibility boost – well, a publicity boost, certainly - when Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson declared the BMW 1 Series M Coupe to be the best car – in the world. Or at least the best car in the world at £40,000. This week. Possibly.

And now we get another in the same series of videos as the Desert Walls, this time featuring the 1M Coupe atop the US Bank Tower in Los Angeles – which has the highest helipad in the world at 1018 feet up – drifting in a never-ending circle of tyre smoke.

It’s clear that, just like the Desert Walls video, the Helipad video is a CGI product, but it’s none the worse for that.

And if you want to watch a BMW 1M Coupe drifting in a circle, you might as well watch it doing so on top of a very, very high building.

It’s somehow much less monotonous.
