BMW 4-series configurator goes live

Tue, 09 Jul 2013

The configurator for the 2014 BMW 4-series is live at www.bmwusa.com. Potential buyers can check out the new coupe and flip between 12 colors, two engines and three main trim levels. We first saw the BMW 4-series concept in Detroit back in January and we took a deeper look in June. The 4 will make its public debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September.

Prices start at $40,500 for the 428i rear-wheel-drive coupe and go up to $48,000 for the 435i xDrive. The Luxury Line package (18-inch wheels, upgraded interior trim, chrome kidney grille, leather with contrasting stitching and a black key fob) adds $1,400. The M Sport package (aero pieces, M Sport steering wheel, 18-inch wheels, Dakota leather, sport seats) adds $3,100. Finally, the Sport Line (high-gloss black grille, 18-inch wheels, upholstery upgrades, black key fob and sport seats) bumps the price up $1,700. Alternately, buyers can start with the base coupe and pick their own options.

The 4-series gets two engine choices in the U.S. In the 428i a turbocharged 2.0-liter makes 242 hp, and in the 435i BMW's turbocharged straight-six will make 302 hp. A six-speed manual is standard; eight-speed automatics are optional.

The 2014 BMW 4-series should arrive in showrooms late this summer.
