Bentley Supersports 'Ice Speed Record' Convertible

Last week we brought you news of a new Bentley Limited Edition – the Bentley Supersports ‘Ice Speed Record’ Convertible – and now Bentley catch up with the story too.

It looks like most of our information was accurate, but Bentley has changed their minds – or we got steered in the wrong direction –  as the exterior treatment has changed a bit from the last story.

On the power front – rather the point when it comes to Bentley Supersports – the Bentley Supersports ISR’s 6.0 litre W12 gets 631bhp and 590lb/ft of torque, and runs on anything up to E85 fuel. That equates to 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds and 0-124mph in 9.5 seconds. That smidge of extra power (10bhp) comes from a bit of tweaking due to free-breathing air intakes, intercooler and exhaust.

Bentley are making just 100 Supersports Ice Speed Record Convertibles and they will be available in a choice of Beluga, Quartzite and Arctica White, with a dark grey ‘metallic look’ soft top and a set of 20″, ten-spoke alloys with dark tint. We did think there’d be a few red highlight on the exterior, but Bentley seem to have decided that may be a bit passe; a bit too obvious, so they’re gone.

Inside the Supersports ISR gets diamond-quilted Alcantara on the doors, quarter panels and seat facings and soft-grip leather on the steering wheel. There’s a high-gloss carbon-fibre dash, centre console and roof panel which feature a red weave. There’s also red piping on the seats and doors and red contrast stitching on the seats, door casings, steering wheel and gearshift paddles (red’s obviously not as passe on the inside).

As we said last week, the Supersports ISR enjoys the regular Supersports Convertible levels of interior refinement; it’s not a stripped-down 2-seater like the coupe. So you get stuff like touchscreen infotainment and a new driver information panel (DIP) located in the main instrument cluster. Proper levels of Bentley comfort and accoutrements.

Still no word on how much, though.
