Berger Chevy offers unique Camaro 1LE

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Berger Chevrolet of Grand Rapids, Mich. is bringing a bit of Southern California to the Mitten with its uniquely styled Berger Chevy Camaro 1LE. It has an MSRP of $39,985, which is $2,950 more than the price of a stock Camaro 1LE.

Founded in 1925, Berger has a history of dealer specials including the 1969 COPO Camaro and one of the original ZL1s.

According to Berger, the visual elements of this 1LE are inspired by Chevy's Camaro 1LE SEMA show vehicle but are blended with styling cues specific to the dealership.

The package includes:

--Painted hood and heritage-style front-fender hash marks based on the 2012 1LE SEMA vehicle

--Blacked-out front grille enclosure

--Chevrolet Accessories heritage grille with bowtie bracket

--Berger-signature blacked-out rear panel with matching black taillight surrounds and “By Berger” rear emblem

--Black-painted wheel hub flanges

--Blacked-out front and rear bowtie surrounds

--Heritage blue front and rear bowties

--Custom 1LE front fender and rear deck lid badges with Heritage blue trim

--Billet “By Berger” underhood emblem and “Prescribed Power” underhood graphic

--“Prescribed Power” interior emblem.

Those visual enhancements are in addition to mechanical upgrades to the stock 1LE, which consist of close-ratio gearing, a 27 mm solid front stabilizer bar, a 28 mm rear bar and a strut tower brace. ZL1-based parts include 20-inch wheels and tires, wheel bearings, toe links and rear shock mounts, as well as the fuel pump.

Berger also offers an optional handling package for $1,685. That comes with wider 305/35ZR20 rear tires and Pfadt Race Engineering coil springs with a 1.25-inch drop.

Additionally, the dealership sells ZL1 composite lower rocker extensions and rear spoiler for $1,190 and a composite extractor hood for $1,355.
