Buick Envision SUV concept

Another car that broke cover at Shanghai, was the Buick Envision SUV concept. The Envision is another car that slots into the coverted crossover niche, and was developed jointly by Shanghai GM and the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC).

The Envision is said to merge Buick's global design language with Chinese aesthetics for the SUV segment. Buick claim that the concept also inherits the essence of it's 'fluid dynamics and peaceful comfort'.

Beneath the skin, the Envision makes use of GM's 'PHEV' plug-in hybrid system as well as sporting a chassis crafted from carbon-fiber and magnesium. Elsewhere, the Envision follows the trend of substituting external mirrors for cameras and also features a '3D HUD' system.
