Cancer patient tours Ford assembly plant

Tue, 11 Feb 2014

On Monday, 9-year-old Eli Williams became plant manager for a day at Ford's Mustang assembly plant in Flat Rock, Mich.

Williams was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma, which is a malignant brain tumor, on Dec. 29, 2011. He went into remission but suffered an unfortunate relapse this December, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The Athens, Ala., family just finished a road trip that runs through Cleveland, around Niagara Falls and ends up right in the heart of Mustang country.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Eli has always loved cars, and his favorite is the Mustang. We don't blame him.

Even Bill Ford carved some time out of his day to spend with Eli and his family.

Take a moment to see this wide-eyed young man peer in awe at the cars he has grown to love.

It gives you the feeling that a little bit of humanity is restored when people within Ford and members of the UAW pull together to give such a priceless gift to a family that has endured so much.
