Car Design of the Year Awards 2007

Wed, 26 Dec 2007

What was your favorite car design from 2007? Here's your chance to vote for your favorite designs and CDN will present an award to the winning design teams.

For the next four weeks, Car Design News is asking its readers to vote for their favorite car designs from the last twelve months. Last year, you voted the Saab Aero X as the Best Concept Design and the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione won the award for Best Production Design of 2006. In 2005, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage won the award in the Production Design category.

While other 'Best Design' contests are largely made up of votes from journalists, the voters for this survey will be comprised of over one thousand automotive designers and car design students - so it is truly 'by designers for designers'.

There are two separate categories for cars that debuted in 2007: one for concept designs and one for production designs.

Nominations for the Concept Design of the Year for 2007 are:

BMW Concept CS Chevrolet Volt Citroën C-Cactus  Ford Airstream Ford Interceptor Hyundai Qarmaq Mazda Taiki Nissan Round Box Toyota iQ VW Space Up!

Nominations for the Production Design of the Year for 2007 are:

Audi A5 Fiat 500 Ford Mondeo Honda FCX Clarity Jaguar XF Lamborghini Reventón Maserati Gran Turismo Mazda2 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Nissan GT-R

You can check out more on all of these cars by looking at the relevant auto show coverage from 2007. In addition, we've covered most of the cars in our Design Review or Design Development stories - you can find these in-depth reports under the relevant tabs on the homepage navbar.

Readers can vote just one time each so to be sure you get your say - vote online now!

We'll also be inviting a number of leading design chiefs to vote for their own favorite concepts and production cars too, so we can compare your responses with those 'experts'.

We'll publish the results early next year, so vote online for your favorite nominated design during December and watch for the story.
