Carroll Shelby's AC Cobra to be auctioned

A limited-production 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 CSX1001 will be available at the Russo and Steele Collector Automobile Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., Jan. 19-23, 2011.

This vehicle is one of 12 in the CSX1000 series to have an AC-built body. The CSX1001 was the only one of those 12 to be completed as a Semi-Competition Cobra for Carroll Shelby by Shelby American with the all-aluminum Shelby 427 engine.

The winning bidder will also receive the original title, which shows Carroll Shelby as the vehicle's first owner.
