Chevrolet Trailblazer

Tue, 15 Nov 2011

The 2013 Chevrolet Trailblazer made a low-key world debut at the Dubai motor show last week, before showing in LA this week. Although billed as a 'show car', Chevrolet is adamant the production version will differ only in minor details.

This second-generation Trailblazer was penned in GM's South America Design Center in Brazil, where the design theme was ‘sophisticated muscle'. This equates a ‘body-in, wheels-out' stance, accentuated by taught fender surfaces. The outsized, double-decker grille and underbody protection give the car a visual toughness. Glitzy show car details include decorative aluminum lamp graphics that is repeated in the lower LED DRLs, polished 20" wheels.

Inside, the Trailblazer offers seven seats, with the the rear two rows folding flat to the floor. The dominant center stack and a minimal IP appear wholly conventional but, like the exterior are treated to a little motor show glitter, courtesy of the exposed gear shift gator (similar to Volvo's Space Ball), dark blue upper IP and neon blue backlighting. This is repeated in the roof-mounted entertainment console.
