Dacia Logan Estate: Price from £6,995

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The Dacia Logan MCV (Estate) becomes the UK’s cheapest estate car with prices from £6,995 – for the Logan MCV 1.2 Access trim – rising to £10,795.

That’s £1,000 less than we’d expected when the Logan estate was revealed at Geneva last month, and cheap enough to make it the cheapest estate car on sale in the UK.

True, the entry-level Logan estate in Access trim with the 1.2 litre 74bhp petrol engine, 15″ steel wheels and not a lot of toys, isn’t exactly specced up, but if you need a proper estate car – and you want it new – the Logan MCV (the MCV bit means ‘Maximum Capacity Vehicle) is a great deal.

Prices do go up as spec increases and engines get better, with the Ambience trim costing from £7,595 for the 1.2 litre petrol and rising to £9,395 for the 1.5 dCi 90 diesel, but you do get more equipment such as a radio/CD, USB/AUX and Bluetooth, remote locking and electric windows.

If you want a Logan MCV that offers most of the stuff you’re used to you will need to opt for Laureate trim – with the 1.2 litre costs £8,995 rising to £10,795 for the 1.5 dCi – when you’ll get AirCon, Cruise, heated electric door mirrors, electric windows, better trim on the inside, better audio, extra chrome and Kalahari wheel trims.

It’s a strong offering from Dacia offering a decent-looking estate with decent load capacity – 573 litre seats up, 1518 seats down – and specs you can live with. The Access does only come in white, but you can have the Ambience or Laureate in Cinder Red, Mercury, Pearl Black, Sargasso Blue and Stone, and you can add on extra goodies like Leather (£600) and SatNav (£250) if you want more goodies.

The Dacia Logan MCV is available to order from today (5th April 2013) with first cars arriving in Dacia’s UK showrooms in July.
