Daimler continues partnership with St. Moritz Art Masters Festival

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

Daimler will again be represented at this year's St Moritz Art Masters with the Mercedes-Benz, Maybach and AMG brands.

For the fourth time, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer has taken part in the festival, taking place from August 26th to September 4th, which celebrates avant-garde contemporary art. The festival will be celebrated in St. Moritz and the surrounding Oberengadin region.

A Maybach exhibition will be forming part of the festival's ‘Walk of Art', with the brand expected to exhibit works from Vahakn Arslanian, an emerging protégé if Julian Schnabel, through the mentoring program of the Wilhelm & Karl Maybach Foundation, in the "Église au bois" church in St Moritz Bad. Schnabel's ‘The Ones You Didn't Write', a Maybach-designed Guard Car, will also be on display.

This will be the first time Arslanian will present his works to a large international public, and in addition to a series of altarpieces, his designs of aircraft windowpanes and vehicle windows of the Maybach Guard will be exhibited in the church. Attempting to give the viewer a clear view of the artwork, Arslanian made an aircraft and vehicle shell, also designed to provide the right type of setting for his pieces.
