Dave Hilton, Camilo Pardo and Laurent Nivalle collaborate on new exhibition

Thu, 25 Oct 2012

David Hilton, Camilo Pardo and Laurent Nivalle have collaborated on an exhibition that brings together the worlds of automotive design, art and photography. 'ART FAIR meets Cars and Glamour: Sexy from the rear-view' opens at the Galerie am Brüsseler Platz in Cologne Germany on Saturday 27 October for a month. Check out the exhibition Facebook page for more details.

Camilo Pardo, while primarily known as chief designer of the Ford GT and host of the Detroit designers' night, is also an accomplished artist, sculptor and clothing and furniture designer and the exhibition will feature a collection of his prints to display.

Pardo's collection of artwork and paintings are held in high regard, especially at Ford, where two of his GT paintings were hung at Ford's Dearborn headquarters, and another – of a 1961 Lincoln Continental – has made its way to Ford's London design center.

Bentley's Head of Exterior Design David Hilton's one-off painting of the Bentley GT3 racecar – recently revealed at the Paris motor show – will also be featured at the show. His philosophy on designers is that "every great car designer is also an artist at heart, always looking for the new or different approach".

Laurent Nivalle has held the position of Art Director and photographer for Citroën Design Center for the last 10 years and as such his work is perfect for the exhibition. His beautiful shots of the Citroën DS9 in Paris make up part of his portfolio, and his ability to merge fine cars, portraiture and fashion should be a real highlight of the show.

If you can't make it to the show you can check out more of Pardo's work on his website, and more examples of Nivalle's photography can be found on his own website.

The exhibition opens on 27 October and runs until 27 November.
