EBay Motors app for the iPhone debuts

Impulse shoppers, rejoice. Thanks to the just-released eBay Motors app, you can go right to your iPhone and grab that Ferrari F50 you've been eyeing since you won the lottery. Rather than patiently test-driving, negotiating and comparison-shopping in person, you can now fall prey to your thumb's need to impulsively purchase a car you think you can afford.

The app is just as good for people who want to lust after sheetmetal as it is for those who can actually throw down money on the fly for a set of wheels. EBay is hoping to capitalize on the market for mobile-phone-based automobile purchases, which appears to be growing noticeably each year.

In addition to browsing and buying, you can key a button to check on the vehicle's history--not unlike reading your Match.com date's profile. One of the best features of this autos-only eBay app is the VIN input and corresponding parts finder so you can easily replace the muffler that fell off your El Camino...in1977.

And, you have the added luxury of sending word of your recent purchase to Facebook and Twitter. Just don't friend your lender in case you can't make the monthly payments.
