FAB1 Rolls-Royce Ghost for Classic Motor Show

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

The FAB1 Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase is no stranger to us at MSN Cars. Our esteemed managing editor, Tim Pollard, once spent some time in it, hobnobbing with the likes of Chris Evans, James May, Gary Barlow and Brian Cox.

Back then it was on its way from Land’s End to John O’Groats, helping to launch a campaign aimed at raising £1 million for Breast Cancer Care.

But don’t worry if you didn’t catch sight of it on its famous journey last year, as the very pink FAB1 Rolls-Royce Ghost will be making a special appearance at this year’s Classic Motor Show at the NEC in Birmingham.

It will feature as part of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club stand, with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars also displaying a unique Phantom space-frame and a cut-away V12 engine.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Phantom production, with Rolls-Royce celebrating the date by unveiling a star-studded Bespoke Celestial Phantom.

Speaking about the event, Andrew Ball, corporate communications manager, said:

“We are delighted to support the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club at this year’s Classic Motor Show. We celebrate the enduring appeal of Phantom alongside its stablemate, Ghost – both hand-crafted at the home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex.

“The FAB1 project has raised thousands of pounds for Breast Cancer Care to date, and we aim to continue this momentum by providing the car for fantastic events like the Classic Motor Show”.

FAB1 – which was the brainchild of Chris Evans – features, aside from its pink paintwork, a Blushing Pink and Creme Light Leather interior, hand-stitched pink soft furnishings and yes, a pink umbrella.

You can see FAB1 at the 2013 Classic Motor Show which takes place at the NEC, Birmingham 15-17 November.
