Facelifted Lexus CT200h at 2013 Guangzhou show

Tue, 12 Nov 2013

Next week is already daft enough, what with the 2013 Tokyo and Los Angeles Motor Shows kicking off on the same day – Wednesday 20 November. Now it turns out there’s a third motor show happening at the same time, the 2013 Guangzhou Motor Show in China.

And for some reason, Lexus has chosen Guangzhou to debut the revised CT200h hybrid hatchback.

Details aren’t exactly overflowing at this stage, which suggests there isn’t too much to get excited about when it comes to the CT200h facelift.

But we do know that the car will be updated with Lexus’ latest ‘spindle’ grille design, new alloy wheels (oooh) and a revisions at the rear end (ahhh).

Beyond that and a pair of pictures, Lexus is keep schtum at this stage. Best expect a minor improvement over the current car’s 74.3-68.9mpg and 87-94g/km CO2 emissions, though no major changes to the 98hp 1.8-litre petrol and electric motor powertrain combination or CVT automatic gearbox.

It will almost certainly receive an interior refresh, with improved material quality and perhaps changes to the remote touch infotainment interface.

Expect more information about the new Lexus CT200h when it’s official unveiled in Guangzhou on 21 November 2013.
