Fans to vote on next Chevrolet Super Bowl ad

Thu, 22 Dec 2011

Chevrolet is giving one lucky filmmaker a chance to see his or her commercial broadcast during the biggest game of the year, Super Bowl XLVI. Filmmakers from 32 countries offered their interpretation of Chevy's "Everyday Hero" campaign. The winner will be chosen based on the number of fans who share the video from http://chevroletroute66.msn.com.

Chevy and MOFILM, a global creative community, received 197 entries from filmmakers. Voting begins on Dec. 22 and runs through Jan. 25. Those who share their personalized link to the videos the most and give the most creative answer to the question "If you could drive to any destination in your home country, where would you go?" could win up to $10,000.

"With Chevrolet Route 66, we wanted to tap into the talents of creative people from every corner of the Earth to discover our next Super Bowl ad," said Joel Ewanick, General Motors vice president and global chief marketing officer. "The submissions we received show that people from around the world share many of the same values and how Chevrolet plays a role in helping them along life's road."

Microsoft Hub is hosting the videos and will identify participants with unique user codes that will let them accumulate points every time they share a video. Top fans will be tracked by the contest-site leaderboard.

Fans can check out all the videos at http://chevroletroute66.msn.com and enter to win the 10 grand.
