Fiat partners with Politecnico di Milano for new Masters course

Fiat Group Automobiles and the Politecnico di Milano Industrial Design, Arts, Communication and Fashion Department (INDACO) will join efforts in managing a Master in Transportation & Automobile Design course. The first classes are set to begin in October 2008.

The course is aimed at forming new car designers, focusing on the development of their creativity, in an innovative way. A theoretical and academic approach will be integrated with practical training finalized to teach the full styling development process typically used in the car industry. Special focus will be given on virtual development tools, interior design and on the understanding of materials and colors.

This specializied Masters course comes directly from the profitable relationship established between teachers of Politecnico and Fiat Group Automobiles car designers. Fiat already supports several didactical initiatives for the Politecnico di Milano School of Design students through internships and car design contests. Fiat will support this Master course with direct teaching, in a way to assure coherence with car design market needs. The company will host then host 10 students for an internship inside its styling department.

The Specializing Master in Transportation & Automobile Design has been designed and promoted by Politecnico di Milano School of Design and will be managed by Politecnico di Milano INDACO Department. A maximum of 30 students will be involved in at least 1500 hours of studies and activities over a period of 15 months.
