Ford EcoSport concept

Wed, 04 Jan 2012

Ford is choosing the New Dehli Auto Expo to unveil its EcoSport concept. The all-new crossover vehicle is comparable to the Fiesta in size and is built atop Ford's new B-Car architecture.

Designed in Brazil under the direction of Joa Marcos De Oliveira Ramos, the EcoSport is poised to be a significant part of the company's ‘One Ford' strategy that will see the previously Brazilian only EcoSport rolled out further afield in markets both developing and mature.

Despite the concept moniker, the car is essentially a thinly disguised production variant, simply adopting a stylized DRG for the show. Drawing from the Evos-based 'Kinetic 2.0' design language, the EcoSport concept gains heavily detailed headlamp graphics and a dominant grille. The high-riding stance, boot-mounted spare and chunky lower body protection all pertain to the car's CUV and active lifestyle qualities.
