Ford Focus Studio: The entry-level Focus arrives

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

Ford Focus Studio - Ford's new entry-level Focus at £14k

Times are tough for many and car makers need to respond to that with cars the public consider good value. Step forward the new Ford Focus Studio.

The Focus Studio arrives as the entry-point for the new Ford Focus, and at £13,995 it makes an impressive statement with a decent level of standard equipment for a relatively modest price.

Of course it’s not just about producing a car that has tempting entry price points, it’s also about fighting the increasing threat from the East, and in particular Hyundai and Kia with their increasingly impressive cars and warranty.

And on the competing front the Focus Studio makes a good case for itself. It gets 16″ alloys, Radio/CD (we thought Ford were dropping the in-car CD player?) with USB, AirCon, electric mirrors and front windows and ESP with torque vectoring control. Not exactly hair-shirt time.

The Focus Studio gets Ford’s 84bhp petrol lump which will mean 0-60mph in 12.3 seconds and 48mpg, which is frugal enough to be affordable and quick enough to be bearable.

Available in Panther Black, Moondust Silver and Frozen White, the Focus Studio is on sale now.
