Ford Ranger gets rollover control for 2010

Fri, 06 Feb 2009

The Ford Ranger pickup will roll into the 2010 model year this summer equipped with the automaker's stability-control system that includes a rollover sensor.

The rollover sensor measures the truck's angle of tilt and engages the antilock braking system to help prevent a rollover. Ford uses the technology, which it calls AdvanceTrac with RSC, throughout its vehicle lineup.

The 2010 Ranger also gets new side-impact airbags that protect the head and torso of the driver and front passenger.

Sheetmetal changes? No news there.

Ford sold 65,872 copies of the Ranger in 2008--and 515,513 copies of the F-series pickup.
