Hamann Motorsport tie-dyes McLaren MP4-12C

Wed, 07 Nov 2012

Tuner Hamann Motorsport is going after BMW's art car with its new creation. The colorful memoR package for the McLaren MP4-12C turns the angry supercar into a Technicolor rolling sculpture for Timothy Leary fans.

Of course, this car is from Hamann, so it's equipped with a carbon-fiber body kit. This setup is meant to echo the MP4's predecessor, the McLaren F1. Hamann installs a new front apron, mud flaps, air outlets, side skirts and LED lights. The air intakes on the front of the car are enlarged, the hood is redone in carbon fiber, and a custom roof scoop, rear wing and rear apron are added.

Hamann Unique Forged wheels sit at the corners, measuring 21 inches in both the front and rear. Hamann says it paid special attention to keeping weight down on the MP4, using carbon wherever possible.

Inside, buyers can opt for woodgrain, carbon fiber, leather or Alcantara trim. Customization options include a rainbow of colors, personalized floor mats and a full-leather interior.

This package isn't cheap, but if you want your McLaren to stand out from the crowd, it's the only way to go. The memoR costs $121,777 on top of the price of the 12C. Check out www.hamann-motorsport.com/en for more information.
